What is Triaminic Cold & Allergy Syrup used for?
Triaminic Cold & Allergy syrup contains a combination of a decongestant (pseudoephedrine hydrochloride) and an antihistamine (chlorpheniramine maleate). Triaminic Cold & Allergy syrup temporarily relieves the following symptoms: itchy, watery eyes; runny nose; itchy nose or throat; sneezing; nasal and sinus congestion by clearing stuffy nose.

When must Triaminic Cold & Allergy Syrup not be used?
Do not use Triaminic Cold & Allergy syrup if: the child is allergic to any of its ingredients listed above; the child is taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson’s disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if the prescription contains a MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving this product.

What precautions are required when using Triaminic Cold & Allergy Syrup?
Tell your doctor if the child has the following medical problems: heart disease, high blood pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes or glaucoma; a breathing problem such as chronic bronchitis.
Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if the child is taking sedatives or tranquilizers (such as diazepam). Do not use more than directed. Drowsiness may occur. Excitability may occur. As Triaminic Cold & Allergy syrup contains an anti-histamine, it may cause some children to become less alert than they are normally. Remind the child to take extra care when taking this medicine.

Nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness; drowsiness; dry mouth; headache.

Dosage:
- Children 6 to under 12 years of age (21- 43 kg): 2 teaspoons (10 ml) every 4 to 6 hours.
- Children 4 to under 6 years of age (11- 21kg): 1 teaspoon (5 ml) every 4 to 6 hours.
- Children under 4 years of age: ask a doctor.
Do not take more than 4 doses during 24 hours or as directed by a doctor.
